The 9th Annual Fashion First Seattle runway show puts the spotlight on local independent retailers like La Ree Boutique, Sway and Cake, Tatters, Luxagogo, Blue Luna, Mercer, Canopy Blue and more! It’s Seattle’s longest-running independent fashion show, featuring the latest looks from the top leading-edge local designers. This year’s fashion show and auction will benefit Rise n’ Shine, a non-profit providing advocacy, mentors, summer camp and more to children and teens affected by HIV/AIDS. Ruby Room supporters will get the chance to contribute to the 2013 scholarship fund at the 10th annual Ruby Room fashion show and auction! The lively evening is part fashion show and part auction. The fashion show features emerging and established fashion designers who reconstruct gowns that were donated to the Ruby Room but weren’t asked to the prom. These one-of-a-kind gowns are auctioned off after the fashion show. Attendees also have the opportunity to bid on items such as travel packages, wine, spa services and restaurant gift certificates. You will see gowns by glam.spoon, Lime Light Fashion, MAC Fashion House, Not Your Mama’s Apron, Pinky Herrera Designs and Savannah Red. The Ruby Room is excited to welcome Seattle’s celebrated chef and cocktail goddess Kathy Casey who will strut her stuff on the runway for fashion designer Not Your Mama’s Apron. The show will include futuristic fashions by Portland husband and wife duo, Ms. Wood; a line of bohemian inspired rock ‘n’ roll jackets by Aykut Ozen; dramatically up-cycled silhouettes by Stone Crow Design; sci-fi movie motivated pieces by Pierre Davis; and architecturally inspired looks from the hand of Ruki: by Melanie Parr, all of whom will take leather on a wild walk down Sky Church’s runway!
