In an effort to promote locally owned and operated businesses in Seattle, Mayor Mike McGinn has announced the start of Only in Seattle Sundays 2012. This unique idea allows shoppers and diners the opportunity to take advantage of a customized set of discounts and freebies at local Seattle shops and restaurants in neighborhoods across Seattle.
The Only in Seattle Campaign has 16 different Seattle neighborhoods participating, from Ballard to Queen Anne to West Seattle. And on Sunday, July 29, the community in Fremont will be the first to celebrate Only in Seattle Sunday.
Participating Fremont shops include Markettime Foods, sporting goods and outdoor gear store evo, home furnishings and decor shop Bitters Co., Kylie’s Chicago Pizza and Pete’s Fremont Fire Pit BBQ restaurant. Plus there are other discounts throughout the neighborhood on July 29.
The neighborhood of Belltown will be featured on Sunday, August 12 and Wallingford on Sunday, September 30.
